1. Scope
These API Terms apply when you use an InvestSights API key. A key gives programmatic access to InvestSights data and analysis through our REST endpoints and our MCP connection. They are an agreement between you and SocialCoffee DigiTech Pvt Ltd, operating as InvestSights ("we", "us", "our").
The Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy also apply. Where they differ from these API Terms on API access, these API Terms apply. Where you have a signed written agreement with us for API access, that agreement applies where it differs from these API Terms.
The free MCP connector that signed-in users add to an AI assistant for personal research is covered by the Terms of Service and its own usage limits. These API Terms cover access with an API key.
2. Keys and What They Include
- A key is issued by us to one named person or organisation, for one application.
- A key is issued for one or more products (Equity & Market, Mutual Funds, IPO), or for sub-modules inside a product. It works only for the tools in the products and sub-modules it includes. A call outside them is refused.
- A key can carry an expiry date, rate limits and a list of symbols. These are stated when the key is issued.
- Keep the key confidential. Do not share it, publish it, or place it in client-side code, a mobile app or a public repository. You are responsible for every call made with your key.
- Tell us at once if a key may have been exposed. We will replace it.
- Do not use more than one key, or more than one account, to get around the scope or limits of a key.
3. Evaluation and Production Use
3.1 Evaluation keys
An evaluation key is for testing and building. It is free, it runs for a limited period (normally 14 days) and it has lower rate limits.
- You may call the API from your development and test systems and show the results to your own team.
- You may not use an evaluation key in a product or service offered to customers or to the public.
- An evaluation key stops working on its expiry date. We may end it earlier.
- We make no commitment on availability or support for an evaluation key.
3.2 Production use
Production use means showing API data or analysis to your users or customers, or relying on the API in a service they use. Production use needs a production key, issued under a written agreement with us. The agreement states the products, the limits, the permitted use and the fees.
Fees for production use are agreed in writing before a production key is issued. Nothing is charged for an evaluation key.
4. No Redistribution of Raw Data
Unless a written agreement with us says otherwise, you must not:
- resell, sublicense, syndicate or pass on API data to anyone else as data, whether as a feed, a file, a bulk export, a database or an API of your own;
- let your users download or extract API data in bulk;
- store API data to build a database or archive that can stand in for the API. You may cache a response for up to 24 hours to serve your own application;
- use API data to train or fine-tune a machine-learning model. Passing a response to an AI model so that it can answer a question is use, not training.
Some data comes from stock exchanges and other licensed sources and carries their restrictions. Where those restrictions limit what you may do with a product, we will tell you before a production key is issued.
5. No Competing Service
Unless a written agreement with us says otherwise, you must not use the API or its data to build, operate or improve a service that competes with InvestSights. This includes a market-data or research API, an MCP server, a stock or fund screener, or a research product that reproduces what our API provides.
If you are not sure whether a planned use is a competing service, ask us before you build it.
6. Attribution
- Where you show API data or analysis to users, show "Data: InvestSights" near it, with a link to investsights.in where the medium allows a link.
- Do not remove or change the labels, notes, dates and disclaimers that come with a response. Examples are as-of dates, data flags, and the words "unofficial", "expected" and "AI-generated".
- Do not present yourself as endorsed by, partnered with or acting for InvestSights unless we have agreed to it in writing. You may use our name only for the attribution above.
7. Rate Limits and Fair Use
- Each key has limits per minute, per hour and per day. A request over a limit is refused with HTTP status 429 until the period has passed.
- Do not try to get around the scope, the limits or the expiry of a key.
- Do not run load tests or security tests against the API without our written consent.
- We may change limits to protect the service. Where practical, we tell holders of production keys in advance.
- We record each call made with a key: the tool, the symbol, the time, the result and the IP address. We use this record to operate, secure and bill the service. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle it.
8. Data Is Provided As Is: Analytics, Not Investment Advice
- InvestSights is NOT registered with SEBI as a Research Analyst or as an Investment Adviser.
- API output is data and analysis for information and education. It is not investment advice and not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security.
- Scores, valuations, forensic checks and AI-generated text are model outputs and can be wrong. A response marks them as such. Keep that marking when you show them.
- Data can be delayed, incomplete or corrected later. Prices are end-of-day unless a response says otherwise.
- The API and its data are provided "as is". We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness or availability.
You are responsible for how you present API output to your users, and for meeting the laws and regulations that apply to your own business, including the SEBI rules that apply to it. You must not present API output as advice from InvestSights.
9. Unofficial Figures
Some figures are unofficial by nature, and a response says so.
- Grey-market premium (GMP) for an IPO is unofficial market talk gathered from public sources. It is not a traded price, not a forecast of the listing price and not a recommendation. If you show a GMP figure, show it as unofficial and indicative, with the note that comes with it.
- A date marked "expected", such as an allotment or listing date before the exchange confirms it, is an estimate from the usual timetable. Show it as expected.
- Analyst estimates and model estimates are opinions and calculations, not facts. Show them as estimates.
10. Changes to the API
We may add, change or withdraw tools, fields and products. For a production key, we give reasonable notice of a change that would break existing use, where practical. For an evaluation key, changes can be made without notice.
11. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or revoke a key at once if:
- you break these API Terms or the Terms of Service;
- the key has been exposed, or its use puts the service or other users at risk;
- a law, a regulator, an exchange or a data source requires it;
- fees due under a written agreement are unpaid.
You may stop using the API at any time and ask us to revoke your key.
When a key ends, for any reason, you must stop calling the API and delete the API data you hold, except what the law requires you to keep. Sections 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 12 continue to apply.
12. Liability and Governing Law
The limitation of liability, the indemnification and the governing law and dispute resolution sections of the Terms of Service apply to API access.
We are not liable for decisions that you or your users make on the basis of API output.
13. Changes to These API Terms
We may update these API Terms. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated. We tell holders of production keys by email of a material change. Continuing to use a key after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Contact
To ask for a key, tell us who you are, what you are building, which products you need and how many calls you expect to make.
